It is colored marbles, and I have put in cardboard insert to keep it from dispensing anything, I couldn't have a kid choking :) It took a little drilling and a little rigging to make it work, good luck, can't wait to see yours!!!
I finall found my bubblegum machine in the basement (well, at least I can SEE it - I can't quite get to it yet!). I love this idea. Do you have actual BBG balls in yours? I saw someone use colored marbles, which is probably what I'd do (though I'd hate to have my grandkids break a tooth). I have a CIU, but I'm sure I can think of something to do with it. I love the look in a scrapbook room. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah I may take them down, being downstairs I think the walls are colder and the blue sticky tack doesn't hold like in the summer. I might see if hubby can make me something to put them up on wall with, and I'll paint it blue like the walls to blend. Thanks though, I do love my little treasures :)
I wanted to mention about the bubble gum holder. I actually talked with Renee from Simply Renee and I decided that even though many people (including myself) have called these things "homemade CIU" that I decided not to. It seemed that it bugged her a bit as she has worked her butt off to bring these products to us and then we all make our garage sale version, again she didn't care, but I'm going to at least respect her rights to the name and now call mine the "home made lampshade hanger" with the CIU clips that I bought. She is truly a wonderful person and business owner and I hope to get her products someday soon (at least the ribbon holders for now, that I want to use in my slat wall paper rack holder :o) The others would take up to much table space in my little closet.
