11-8-10...Last month, while out on a walk of the property I found a dump site. After poking around a bit I found these two jars along with some other vintage housewares. The jars have numbers stamped in them so I did a Google search for US Patents and found this document of the inventor's PLANS for his design and patent information. [I filled the jars with colored water for photography purposes.] [DSCF1760]

DESIGN FOR A JAR

Application filed January 8, 1932. Serial No. 42,419. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Edwin W. Fuerst, a citizen of the United States, residing at Toledo, in the county of Lucas and State of Ohio, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for Jars, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
In the drawings:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a jar showing my design.
Fig. 2 is a front elevational view thereof.
Fig. 3 is a top plan view.
I claim:
The ornamental design for a jar substantially as shown.
