You were on the island of Oahu! I just noticed the tag for Waimae Bay. Such a small world! Did you go to Hanauma Bay? I'll never forget feeding the fish frozen english peas right out of our hands. Too cool! Wonderful memories.....Cindy
Oh Fran! You went to Hawaii, too! We were stationed there twice. Our first tour was cut short because my husband went to flight school.
We were there for 9 months, and then we requested to return after he finished flight school and we were stationed there just shy of 3 years and that tour was cut a little short because he was one of the cobra pilots that was involved in Desert Storm. We were living in Schofield Baracks on Oahu. The kids and I never made it to any of the other islands but my husband flew while on duty to a couple of the other islands. Wow! Such a great place! I'm so glad you were able to experience Hawaii and Europe. We went to the beach one year on Christmas day! Ha!!! Didn't seem like Christmas but it sure was a nice day......in the sun! There were times when we were determined to spend the day at the beach and 'if' it was raining on one side of the island, you could always go to the other side and enjoy a day on the beach. Great memories! What island did you visit? Cindy

Love your design!! So glad that you didn't let that hurricane ruin your trip. Love those pictures and all your cute embellies!!! That netting is just the perfect touch!!!!
Great lo! There is so much to notice, the shells, sea, fish, flip flops.......
and they all come together so nicely. The photos are very nice and will help you remember the good time you had even in the middle of chaos.
What a great way of lifting your spirits, Fran! You rock, and so does this fantastic LO! I enjoyed reading your description and admiring all your marvelous and well thought out details! Excellent work!
How much FUN is this!!!!! Love it Fran! Love all the perfect little embellies & mesh ribbon!!! Go figure.............. a hurricane on vacation! glad it all turned out for you !!
Fran, this is adorable! I remember the story of the hurricane hitting Hawaii when you were there for vacation. How scary! But you managed to make it work anyway and this layout is awesome! I love the tropical feel of it and that you have real shells decorating it. Great pics, too! Wonderful job!
This is really, really, adorable and pretty. I love all the little images you cut out and coloured. I also think that the rough fabric ribbon captured the look of grass and sand and suspect that you had that in mind when you made the layout.
This layout is chock full of fun details! I think you look GORGEOUS in that photo too. I love the net-type ribbon you used that has caught palm trees, shells, a hula dancer, and those fun masks!
Yes, "Aloha" is prominent on this LO, BUT the hidden journal (revealed when the ship is lifted) is about the headband my husband made at the luau to cheer me up. We went to Hawaii for our 26th Anniversary. Hurricane Iniki hit Hawaii 2 days after our arrival. The aftermath had us scrambling to make alternate plans for our 2 week stay. It was very stressful as we were literally on the streets for 18 hours until other arrangements were made. The next afternoon, we purchased matching outfits for the luau, to add some humour to our experience. The outfits had "tourists" written all over them, LOL. A hurricane was not about to spoil our long awaited trip.
All the die cuts were created with my Cricut. Some were coloured or inked. The He'e Berry Lei was fussy cut from a computer printout. Some of the shells are real ones collected on the beaches during our trip. TFL
