The hidden journaling behind the picture reads:

To the naked eye, this looks like a poorly exposed photo taken on an ordinary Christmas day. Most people would throw it away and any good scrap booker would certainly not consider putting a bad photo in their scrapbook.
I ask you to look closer, past the darkness, look at the love and joy on the subject’s faces, let it touch your heart. The two people in this photo are Father and Daughter, and this photo was the last time they ever stood together in front of a Christmas tree. And it almost didn’t happen that day either. On December 1st 2000, I had to have a shunt placed in my brain to help drain away my cerebral fluids that the brain “forgot” how to deal with. The excess fluids were causing me to have debilitating migraines and putting so much pressure on my optic nerves that my eyes were being damaged and I was going blind. I didn’t want to tell my Dad about it, because he suffered with a very weak heart, but after much consideration, my husband and I decided it was better to tell him ahead of time, due to the odds of the surgery. He lived in another state from me, and I was glad he wouldn’t be there for the surgery. I ended up in surgery for 14 hours, and the stress of waiting caused him to have a heart attack. The next afternoon after I came to I begged for them to let me talk to him on the phone and due to the circumstances they let me, all we could do was laugh and giggle because we could. Two weeks later he traveled in a car4oo miles to come and spend Christmas with me. It was our last one together and most certainly was on of the most joyous we had together! So you see, this poorly exposed photo is pure evidence that miracles do really happen. We just have to get over the idea that they always come in pretty packages with bows tied to them!
