I taught there for a year just over 10 years ago. It is such a beautiful country in every sense of the word. The people, the landscapes, the joie de vivre! Siempre una fiesta, is what I used to say. It pains me to see it's people suffer so much. The suffering has to stop one day...
This is a very touching layout.
I enjoyed the poetry, the journaling, the pictures, the colours....
Well, I enjoyed the whole thing very much. Really very nice.
I've long wanted to do a page that was about one of my heartfelt convictions. This layout has taking my love for the world's children, my longing for peace, and brought it to a very personal level. Here's the poem and journaling:
Real people living normal lives/Going to mass/riding bikes/ laughing with children/ beautiful people,/ having to fight the effects of a war./A war not of their own doing./Paramilitary./Civil War/Guerrillas./Landmines./Children in the crossfire./Oh, God, the children.... thousands have died,/thousands more homeless,/parentless,/ and in poverty
Journaling: As the parent of a child from Colombia, one of my heart's desires is for this beautiful country to experience pease. Colombia has vast amounts of natural rescources (Coffee, beautiful rain forests, emeralds and talented strong people) I want our country ro help the ordinary people in their daily lives. Providing water pumps, funding small industry, establishing alternative crops, creating fair trade for cash crops, endorsing shade grown coffee, are all positive actions that we can support so that peace can reach those who need it most...Colombia's children.
