From the time when you were born until you were almost two years old, I would hold you in my arms, rocking you in my Pap's old rocking chair, and I would sing the words to "Dedicated To the One I Love" to you, and you would fall asleep. As you grew older, you didn't want to be rocked to sleep anymore. How I miss that! Now for the past year, night-night time with you has a different routine. You love to have me cuddle up next to you in your bed, holding you until you fall asleep. Whenever I attempt to leave, we replay the same conversation over and over again. I sometimes need to remind myself to cherish these moments, for all too soon you won't want me there anymore. I love you, baby.
