Hidden Journaling: {Written By David} No matter what we say about vacations, they may be so needed and deserved but they are always extremely hectic and stressful. Packing, traveling, activities, money, crowds, reservations; the relaxation and nerve wracking tug-o-war is fairly even in the best cases. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that tip the scales into the great vacation’s favor. In the case, the tipper was the good old continental breakfast. The day before this photo we had experienced the worst of vacation mishaps. A 3 hour drive, a parking ticket in Philadelphia, rainy beach sight seeing, rude swans (they made US move off the path), no hotel reservations, a toll-boothed grocery store (yep, $4 to park) and a Cool Ranch Dorito dinner. Sounds like good times, right? But then the sun rose and a new morning screamed “Meet Me At Harry’s”! Ok, I read that yell off a room brochure but coffee alone sounded that good to me. And like dream come true it was there in front of me, that glorious line of bagels, doughnuts, pastries, cereal, coffee, tea, juice….the ever so wonderful continental breakfast! Sitting there in the bay window of the café, reading the local paper, letting the coffee work its magic on my insides, I began to forget about the vacation pot holes from yesterday and started looking ahead to the adventures of the new day. I knew no matter what that this vacation was a trip worth planning and going on. Now if only that local paper would’ve doubled as an umbrella it really could have saved vacation day number two!
