Wonderful Lo, I love the journaling, I think exactly like you described,I didn't have the luck to know my grandparents, aunts and uncles, they were killed in the concentrations camps,no photos, so all the time I ask myself how was they ? Someone of us seems like one of them? When any friend would say,oh today I am going to see my grandparents, I was so sad. Congratulatins, blessed your scrap. I wish you and your family a wonderful 2011.
I love the way you did this cover page and especially that you wrote it in your own handwriting. What a lovely hand-me-down for future generations. Great work.

You must know that I had to "click and enlarge" this lo so that I could read the journalling :) Your words are an inspiration to me as a scrapbooker and as a writer. You beautifully and eloquently summed up the raison d'etre of this wonderful art form. Thank you, Jessica. Brilliant page :)
Yes, that's why I started scrapping, too! So that people after me would know me, my parents, grandparents, kids, etc! This is such a wonderful, awesome, and just plain GREAT way to remember you. My wish for your is that you life is blessed with many children, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, etc, so that you can share your joy with them!! TFS this with us!!
This is a fabulous page that will be treasured by many down the road. Who wouldn't want to have something like this from one's long lost ancestors or even just our parents!!
Wow, Wow, Wow!!! This is the PERFECT opening for all future los preserving your history. I love your heartfelt journaling. I too wish my family had been more diligent about preserving our family's history. I know bits and pieces from stories told (but the facts of a story have a way of changing after being retold many times), and I inherited a pillowcase (literally) full of old photos. Ninety percent of the people I can't identify. I began scrapping so my Grandchildren (not yet born) would have a STRONG sense of family and where they came from. Thanks for sharing your inspirational lo.
This page is an open letter to a group of people who have not yet been born – the younger members of my family, from the children I hope dearly to be blessed with one day to the nieces and nephews my siblings may bring into this world. When I wrote it was even thinking of those who will follow long after I've left this world, when the life force of my memories will live on not in my spoken recollection of events, but in the words and photographs from my lifetime that I preserved while I was here. I have very little that documents the lives of any of my ancestors (save for my parents and grandparents), and would give the world to know more (beyond dates of birth and death) about those who came before me – I wish I could peer inside their thoughts and better understand who they were. It is my hope that through scrapbooking, I will be able to paint a picture of my life, my dreams, my struggles, my joys, and my family's history so that future generations will not be left to wonder who just who exactly “great-great-grandma Jessica” was.
~ Heartfelt thanks for checking my page out. Any questions about this LO, please don't hesitate to ask. Wishing you a blissfully creative day! ~
