This page is an open letter to a group of people who have not yet been born – the younger members of my family, from the children I hope dearly to be blessed with one day to the nieces and nephews my siblings may bring into this world. When I wrote it was even thinking of those who will follow long after I've left this world, when the life force of my memories will live on not in my spoken recollection of events, but in the words and photographs from my lifetime that I preserved while I was here.
I have very little that documents the lives of any of my ancestors (save for my parents and grandparents), and would give the world to know more (beyond dates of birth and death) about those who came before me – I wish I could peer inside their thoughts and better understand who they were. It is my hope that through scrapbooking, I will be able to paint a picture of my life, my dreams, my struggles, my joys, and my family's history so that future generations will not be left to wonder who just who exactly “great-great-grandma Jessica” was.
