Great idea to use chocolate instead of gingerbread. I don't think anyone ever ate off of a gingerbread house. Tooo yucky. Now chocolate is a whole different story. Yum!
YUMMY!!! I LOVE this!!! I love chocolate way more than gingerbread so this is now my Favorite holiday house!!!! That little snowman is so cute too! LOVE it all!!!
Oh Izzy, this looks so yummy but just too cute and beautiful to eat. Wow, sure looks like you guys had a lot of fun with this one, love all the colors, it is a masterpiece.
This is so sweet and yummy! My son is 15 and he still likes to do a Gingerbread piece every year. What a great twist on a wonderful tradition, I know your sons will hold this in their memories and cherish it!
Totally YUM!!! Excellent idea to use the kitkat bars! My kids would love this too. We make the gingerbread houses, but you're right about the gingerbread....they only eat the candy off the outside of the house. We decorate ours on Christmas Eve. LOVE THIS!!
Mmmmmmmmm, I can almost smell the chocolate....darn it, now I HAVE to go downstairs and get some chocolate! LOL~ What fun. Love the red m&ms with the chocolate. :D
I remember as a small child being so excited to make a gingerbread house with my Grandma. Then being disappointed that it tasted so awful! I wanted to make a holiday house with my boys that would be fun to make, pretty to see and yummy to eat.
To make the house, I drew a template on a cereal box. Then, I used kit kat bars, hershey bars, peppermint lifesavors, sour twists, M&Ms and Wilton icing. I decorated the house by adding paper snowflakes to the roof and a snowman to the yard. I placed the house on a sheet of pp which I had covered in modge podge to prevent the candy oils from seeping onto the paper. After the paper dried, I glued it to cardboard to make a sturdy “yard” for the house.
