This is a photo of my Grandmother that I love. Not sure of the year, but I know it was in the 50's. So I went for a very 50's feel. She's very old now and not in the greatest health. I never get to see her but I do love her. We have much in common, good and bad. And I couldn't bear the idea of doing this page after she's passed...

This page is also for several January Challenges:

Monochrome
Flowers and Bling
Doodle
Single Picture
Distress
Scrap Your Faves
Flower Challenge

I also spent several hours restoring the photo. If you care to look at a before and after I am posting it shortly in my Photos gallery.

Every single piece of paper on this layout has a distressed edge. Even the paper edges that you can't see! LOL Even the leaves, that I fussy-cut are distressed on the edges, and inked.

The "title" is handwritten and it is just the words repeated around the photo. I really liked the way it looked and I like that it's my handwriting very much. As her granddaughter and as a woman who gave birth to one of her great-grandchildren I like the touch of my handwritting. The boarder is felt and the pearl branches I got from the floral department of Joann. The flower is handmade. I used the tutorial listed below:

The only difference was I painted the edges of the tulle with black paint first.
