2005 McDonald Clan Reunion

Entry # 2: 2005 McDonald Clan Reunion

This was the second annual reunion of the family on the old homestead. Bobbie and Jonathan have been so gracious to allow the reunion to be held on the family farm. This year my sister created the family tree cake with a picture of my grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary and pictures of my mom’s brothers and sisters from the seventies, eighties, and nineties. Then when we arrived our cousin Patty had created a cake with a picture of the family taken around 1950. It made the day even more special.

Journaling: The small tags starting at the top left handed corner read “Mamaw and Papaw on their 50th Anniversary!”, the one in top middle reads “In remembrance of the ones gone home to be with our Lord!”, the top right-handed corner reads “Kathy, Hallie, Mike, Shirley, and Matty with Arthur holding the cake. The surviving 6 of 13!”, the one middle right-handed side reads “Anthony’s favorite part of the day! The tire swing – couldn’t get him off of it!”, the two on the left-handed side reads “Amazing Grace Music has always been a part of family gatherings. Mom would have been so proud of her girls lifting our voices to her in heaven. We miss you!” and the journaling on the flip up tab reads” The McDonald Clan 2005 This year’s reunion was extra special because of the tribute cakes to Albert and Cora Bell’s family made by Patty and Debbie. The first cake is of the family in around 1950 and the second was taken from their 50th Anniversary party and recent photos of the kids. Life to see part of clan today!”
