Photos of my DH, Butch, with our youngest granddaughter, Maggie, in 2009. I used Creative Imaginations (Christine Adolph) papers for this layout. The swirly pieces down the middle were cut freehand and layered. I added white doodling to the red piece and red stitching on the green and green patterned paper (now that took a while! LOL) Title letters are naked chipboard that I colored with my Copic markers to get the color I needed, then covered them with glossy accents (love that stuff!) I used the EK Success scalloped border punch for the strip on the left side and then added some rick-rack ribbon. I also added pearls to the scalloped piece. I didn't have flat-backed pearls the right color, so I colored them with my Copics. The hearts are Basic Grey chipboard that I covered with ppr. I added journaling in the box on the bottom left and it reads:

Maggie is our sixteenth grandchild. Grandpa has never really wanted to hold a newborn. The first time he saw Maggie she was about 9 days old. He walked in the door and said, “Let me hold her.” We were all surprised, because with the first 15 grandchildren, we had to coax him to hold the baby, and then he wouldn’t hold them for very long. But with Maggie, something changed. He wanted to hold her, rock her, and even feed her a bottle. I don’t know what it was about Maggie, but when Grandpa held her for the first time; it was definitely a case of “love at first sight.”

Thanks so much for stopping by!
