Journaling Reads: We had outgrown our home in the suburbs, and it was time to move. After several unsuccessful house-hunting trips, I jokingly said that we should just move to the country as we had talked about doing in that romantic first year of marriage. It seemed unrealistic, but the more we thought about it, the more it sounded like exactly what we wanted to do. A few days later, our real estate agent found something that was perfect for our family, she said. She was right! I can't say that it's always been easy here, but I do feel like I'm cheating somehow when I see my boys fishing on the lake, or my teenagers riding their horses or the sunset that takes my breath away. I know the sun sets in the city too, but the clear view reflecting off our lake, with nature's unique color palette displayed across both sky and water, cannot be matched. Some may think these things are simple pleasures, but maybe those are the best. We certainly know that life is good! ~2006~
