Left - the certificates Princess gives guests when they cross the International dateline.

Right: Sunday, October 10th – A most strange day because technically, it didn't exist for us. Today is actually Monday, October 11th. We crossed the International Dateline which set the clocks ahead 24 hours so we went to bed on Saturday night at 11:30Pm and woke up on Monday morning 8:30AM and were only in bed for 9 hours! When we woke up we had skipped Sunday completely, which ironically was the Canadian Thanksgiving. People all over the ship were wearing Canadian flag lapel pins with the maple leaf and wearing the colors of Canada.

The day started with a “Meet & Greet” for Cruise Critic members thrown by Princess. It was very nice and even the captain made an appearance and most of the upper staff made an appearance.

Since the cruise of the Pacific Islands was almost over, the ship offered one of their professional photographers to take photos to “show off your island tans”. I dressed up in my favorite new muumuu from American Samoa and Bill wore one of my Hawaiian Aloha shirts! (It's a man's shirt.) We had to remove our shoes and sit on the sheet on the floor, then lie on the sheet on our tummies with our knees bent behind us and our feet in the air and our ankles crossed. Some of the poses were uncomfortable so I was ready when that photo session was over!

That night the Cruise Critic members from Canada were treated to a special Thanksgiving dinner in honor of Canadian holiday yesterday. (That day was lost when we crossed the International Dateline so it was celebrated today.) They had room for 82 people at the private dinner so some of us from other countries were invited to celebrate with them in a traditional dinner of turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, something green I think, and pumpkin pie.
