Journaling: You asked me to take some pictures of you and I was thrilled! What a cool subject…my dear friend. So we escaped for a little bit, found a sunlit window, and started snapping away. I didn’t like any of the pictures. I adjusted the window blinds. I had you reposition your chair. I took some more. You took off your shoes to get more comfortable. I had you pose with the cat. We laughed. And then Ryan woke up from his nap and the husbands decided we all needed to get out of the house. We resigned ourselves to some mediocre pictures and we hoped to get back to the photo shoot. Well, we didn’t. So these are the pictures I have. And the thing is, now, I love them. In our busy weekend visit, we did not get too many moments alone. This moment was kind of awkward and somewhat rushed, but it was ours. And now I have these pictures to remind me of all the things about you that I love but cannot take a picture of: your enthusiasm, your devotion, your vulnerability, your faith. Amy, you are a gift in my life. I am so grateful for every moment with you!
