I love the way you journal! It always warms my heart whenever I see that someone is telling a story about her life. What a lovely summer layout this is. Great work.
Ah, the good ole days of play pens on the beach! Very cute pic, Jessica! Lovely colour palette here, so fresh and summery. Love how you were creative with your journalling and the "went to the beach" words! Fantastic page!
So beautiful Jess...you have lovely childhood pics...I would give my right arm to get my hands on childhood pics but oh well...I'm over it!! All the journaling underneath the photo looks great!! :)
you are so right, Jessica-the everyday moments are so special and it's good to capture those memories on a page. I love the way you included lengthy journaling-that's something I seldom do on my pages but should.such a happy summery page(could sure use some of that summer around here these days-LOL!)
I just love how you journaled on this page. It really shows what scrapbooking is all about!!!! The photo of you and your sister in her playpen is adorable!
What a sweet childhood memory. I wish I had a beach that was as much a part of my childhood as my front yard, but we had a creek instead. I still live just down the road from it.
This energetically hued page is centered around an interesting thought I had recently: (I'm finding that) often there are very few photos of the routine activities and/or locations that were very commonplace to my life when I was growing up. Case in point, the beach at Okanagan Lake in my hometown in British Columbia.
Every summer from June through September we spent the bulk of our days at the beach, yet I could only find a couple of photos amongst my collection (of childhood snaps) that depicted a place that was as much a part of my world back then as our front yard. (This photo shows me and my little sister hanging out in her playpen, which was set up just a few feet from the water's edge.)
(The journaling on this page talks about what the beach meant to me and my family, and how much I adored spending the summers of my youth there. I went with a subtly grid-patterned white background paper for this LO, which mirrors the netting of the playpen, and spelled out a fun little message with letter stickers amongst my journaling.)
~ Heartfelt thanks for checking out my page. Any questions about this LO, please don't hesitate to ask. Wishing you a blissfully creative day! ~
