journalling reads:I love being a mom. As a teenager, when all my friends were dreaming of degrees, world travel and exciting careers, my dreams were simple: I wanted to get married and have children. That is exactly what I did, and I don’t regret it for a moment.
So why is it that I feel slightly inadequate whenever I fill out a document that asks for my profession? Why have I occasionally let slip the apologetic phrase “Oh, I’m just a mom.”?
Yes, I love being a mother, but I am so much more than “just a mom” I am an artist, a seamstress, a gourmet chef wannabe, a teacher, a nurse, an occasional referee, a cheerleader, a housekeeper {whether I like it or not}, an interior designer, a plumber, a gardener, a counselor, a scrapbooker, a friend, and best of all, a wife to a loving husband, and a mom to 4 precious children, who love me, no matter what. I am a child of God, and I am truly blessed.
