Journaling reads: I never imagined that I would have a child with blue eyes.... the odds were certainly against it.... with my dark browns and Daddy's hazels.
When I was a nanny, and Daddy and I used to take those blue-eyed Denning children around, people always mistook them for ours. I would laugh and say, "There is no way we could ever have blond haired, blue eyed kids!"
But, there you were! Born with those dark blues..... "They will change," I said.
And they did change.....
But not to hazel or brown as I had expected, but to a blue so light and airy it looked like the sky reflected in the ocean on a sunny day....
How I love your clear, blue eyes.....
They are one little piece of the wonder that is YOU.
