sienna is always so intriqued by what i am doing at my artdesk, we started calling her "mommy's little apprentice". the photo shoot for this page used the products and colors to create it...the stenciled name "sienna" -she wrote, the eyelet in the middle of the explanation point's dot -she set, the scalloped scissor edge cuts and the brown inking on the pink paper mounted underneath her stenciled name -she did, some of the tiny letters punched from ki memories' 'word search" -she did. the letter "a" she is holding in the bottom left photograph -she punched out...and that photo serves as the first letter of the title (which goes up the left side of the left page and across its top -mimicing the placement of the photographs on the right page)

there were sooooooooooooo many pictures that really told the story it was hard to narrow it down to the mere 22 i used. half of them are contained in the mini-album attached to the right page. the front cover is a list of "frequently asked questions"...can i see? can i sit on your lap? what can i do to help? what's that? how does it work? can i try? i can do it!
are you mommy's little apprentice? yes! and a brief statement: i hope you always love art!
inside the front cover is an interview with sienna: my questions are in brown, her answers in pink, with occassional emphasis placed on a word that is made from the punched out "word search" paper..."what is an apprentice? -when you help mama do art. what do you want to learn? -punch holes, make pages, use sharp tools, and your sewing machine. what did you learn? -about tracing letters. what is your favorite tool? -hammer. what do you like most about scrapbooking? -getting blue ribbons if you do a good job! why does mommy scrapbook? -because she loves it! -mommy when can i be your little apprentice again? the next 5 pages are photos sewn back to back with ribbon tabs sticking out the right side to help turn the page. each photo has a small caption done in the punched out "word search" letters..."tabs, absorbed, hands on, concentrate, practice, careful, eyelet set, trimmed, stapler, ta da, and artish studios.
the mini album is sewn right on the page, with not only the perfect coordinating ribbon but a special binding of a bazzil basic's "really big paper clip". the solution to my dilemma of this plain white color does not match my layout was to wrap the clip in thin torn strips of the ki memories "collection V- garden 'ceramic' paper that i used in the layout.
the heidi swapp ghost heart serves to highlight sienna's toes that are nowhere near touching the floor, and to dot the "i" in her name.
i love the photograph where she is looking thru the transparency of the alphabet, below that row of photos reads "i see scrapbooking in your future"
in complience with the apprentice t.v. show the final portion of the title reads "you're hired!"

products used:
basic grey: lucky...jade & cameo papers
ki memories: "word search" paper, "my girl" alphabet stencil transparency, collection V garden...ceramic paper, mega alphasets -favorite things collection
bazzil basics: really big paper clip, card stock
heidi swapp: ghost shapes; heart
