For 2009, I'm doing the Album in a Year project from Amanda Probst's column in the 2008 issues of CK Magazine. For August, I decided to do the project that she did for June, and likewise, I did the August project with my June pictures -- it just worked out better for me that way with the pictures I took those months. So, this is my August version of her June LO. You can see Amanda's version for '07 on her blog at http://amandaprobst.squarespace.com/. You can see my other finished LO's for this project in my gallery in my 2009 Album and Month LO's album: '09 Month by Month; January - I Predict; February - 10 Things I LOVE this Month; March - As Luck would have it; April - By the Numbers; May - Faces of May; June - We Were Here; July - What We'll Remember.

I downloaded the title, 'These Photos ... are just some of my favorites from the month,' from Amanda as a pdf file, printed it on orange cardstock, and colored in the crosshairs with colored pencils and markers. I also stamped the month on orange cardstock and cut out the circle. I used my Cricut with the Stamped cartridge to cut out the black flowers. Three of the photos are matted, have the metal loops attached like picture hangers, and are popped up with foam tape. I did the journaling blocks on my computer in the Century Schoolbook font and printed them on light blue cs.

Pics & journaling:
Abby - ...because she's just so darn precious.
Cassie, Abby, & me on the pier - ...because we had a wonderful summer Up North.
Sunflowers - ...because sunflowers are cheerful.
Cassie - ...because she's my girl.
The lake & a loon - ...because I love this place.
My dad, Cassie, & Abby - ...because they have such a special relationship.
Cassie & Abby in the boat - ...because it's so representative of our summer.
Cassie picking blueberries - ...because I used to pick blueberries with that tin cup when I was her age.
Lexie in the yard - ...because this was a good day for Lexie. (This was only a few months before the end of her life.)

For the VLB Challenge to use journaling blocks.
