This is a LO of my DS on our camping trip last summer. There is hidden journaling under the quote. It reads:Memories that will never be forgotten. . .

We went for a hike while camping at Arrowhead Provincial Park. The Stubbs Falls hiking trail was a good distance from our site so we decided to drive the car to the beginning of the trail.
We drove past the parking lot by accident, so, we kept driving to the campgrounds store to get wood for a fire that night.
While in the store paying for the wood, Kevin decided to be sneaky. He bought two toy turtles that looked quite real. His plan. . . . . . to hide them on our walk for the boys to find. It worked like a charm. Owen had his binoculars and was exploring EVERYTHING.
Kevin, Chris, and Gavin were walking ahead of Owen, Becky, and myself. Kevin hid one of the turtles just off the trail under some leaves for Owen to find.
Owen was in awe when he discovered it. He didn’t realize that it was just a toy so he wouldn’t get too close. I had to coax him to lift the leaves off the turtle and pick it up. He was so happy, that turtle was his favourite toy all weekend.
Gavin found his a little later just over the side of a bridge, sunning itself on some rocks. Unfortunately we did not get any pictures of Gavin finding his treasure. He was in his stroller so he couldn’t get the full joy of his discovery.

Next time they will both be sure footed on the trails and hunting together. Maybe in search of a Painted Turtle to go with the Snapping Turtle they found on this camping trip.

Traditions in the making.
