I wasn't too sure about posting this one.. It is more for my personal collection. I often times use my scrapping to work through some inner feelings. lately I have had death on my mind. Its not that I fear it.. in fact I do not. But what I do not want is to contaminate the earth with all the chemicals of embalming. Journaling reads:
Why must we be embalmed, pumped full of chemicals to preserve our empty shell? We are but carbon, the basic substance of the universe. Do not preserve me, Do not stick me in the ground to contaminate the earth. Do not mourn me, my body is only borrowed stardust and I believe our spirit is energy trapped inside. Energy and carbon are forever.
Perhaps my views will change.. I do not know... But it is something that has been on my mind. the photos were taken on our spring trip to Columbia, Ca.. I tend to go twice a year and must always visit the historic cemetery. I picked this book page simply for the title.. sometimes its the little details that I like most.
