Jen, I got goosebumps reading your incredible and wonderful description! I am SO glad you found your great aunt's photo albums; what a treasure! Love, love, love the beautiful photos. Your design is so very attractive and all of your details are a joy to admire! Such a marvelous and precious layout!
OMGosh.....what a HAUL, Jen!!!! BEAUTIFUL LO...esp. with the lovely trim around the edge of the circles....LOVE YOUR WORK.....and the way your mind works....RUN, JEN, RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Jen, this is fantastic!!! So lucky that you saved the treasure of photo's. Inheriting my mother in laws photo's was such an honor for me. I hope to scrap them as beautifully as you have scrapped yours...Love the design!!
LOL on the photos.......lucky you to find them first. I "borrowed" my grandmother's scrapebook albumn when she passed with a promise to return it. Can I help it if they forgot I have it? :) I super love the design you have created with the pp. Simply divine!
Photos in the TRASH???? That's a crime punishable by ???? So glad you rescued these treasures. You've done a BEAUTIFUL job of capturing/displaying /preserving the era. An AMAZING heritage lo.
Oh my these photos are priceless treasures to have salvaged how sad it would have been if you hadn't saved them. You have scapped them beautifully, the memories of a simpler time are precious also.Hope your having a wonderful Easter Jennifer.
Gorgeous page, Jennifer. Can't believe these photos were in the trash! That would break my heart if it were photos of my mom and family. Love the split circles and the swirls!
Another very gorgeous and outstanding layout. Your leaves look fabulous and these pp's are just perfect for these treasured photo's! SHOCK...HORROR that these pics almost became landfill...I often look at old photo's in antique shops...it is usually the frame they are wanting to sell but I often wonder why the photo's are discarded. Keep garbage picking I say...someone had to save these treasured memories and they couldn't have gone to a better home!
My Great Aunt Julia had no children so when she passed away, we cleaned out her farm house. In the garbage bin were 2 of her photo albums. Yeah! No kidding - you know exactly what I'm thinking! Run Jen, grab them before someone else realizes what they are and grabs them first. :)
True to form, and once again garbage picking - for the good of it all..... In the albums were wonderful treasures. These pictures are of my mom as a 3yr old. Picture 1 is Grandma and mom. Picture 2 is Grandpa and mom and her cousin. In the background just a few feet away from the kids is a cow grazing. In the far background is the outhouse. Picture 3 is my Great Aunt Julia holding the kids.
There were so many happy memories of this old farm growing up. As a child, we would would visit the farm and have a ton of fun in the hay, on the tractor, in the fields, picking corn. I know my mom has great memories too.
This was created for the Dusty Attic sketch challenge - based on the sketch by Michelle Grant. I used the Swirlydoos kit papers.
I used the DA swirly flourishes and inked and stickled. I made the leaves out of some discount fabric that i cut and inked and frayed the edges (really ugly stuff for anything but leaves in my opinion).
