This jumps out and grabs your attentions and emotions. It is simply beautiful visually and read. It amazes me how scrapbooking does not even need pictures of us to tell our life's happy and sad moments.
What a great tribute to your grandmother! I love the photos of the flowers too!! You might try adding some color to the layout. Either with pp or solid card stock. I like the the focus is on the flowers, and you chose a great poem to go with the page!
wonderful... love the poem, love the ladder of three pics marching across the page..
things I may consider: a diff backround.. maybe a quiet floral or a bright purple.. matting the pics.. in both lavender and yellow.. would really pop it..
chalking the title... again in purple or yellow.. even just the torn edges..
I would also consider making the font bigger.. and putting the poem on the space in the right side and moving the bottom poem to fill the left space..
some prima flowers marching across would be cool too.. anyway these are just some ideas.. the simple style looks good. remember these are only artistic possibilities and you are under no obligation to change anything!
I love the pics and the journaling. great job creating such a sentimental feeling...I thing the photos could really stand out if they were matted or even double matted. i like the tearing of the vellum. nice touch.
gorgeous pics! i'm so very sorry about your grandma's garden. beautiful journaling! i think those irises are indeed a symbol of hope. i'm sure her garden will flourish again! TFS!
Grandma's Garden Author: Erin Kilmer I remember Grandma's garden The beauty and the grace Of all the lovely flowers In that dear sweet place I remember Grandma's smile As she planted, pruned, and tilled Laboring with love and laughter As this world with joy she filled I remember Grandma's patience When we ran amid the flowers With her beauty all around us We would spend those precious hours I remember Grandma's garden And I'm happy in the knowing That when she knelt there in the soil It wasn't just flowers she was growing
Journalling reads:
My grandma lost her entire garden to Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. She spent years cultivating a huge eclectic garden on her property. I remember when I was little she would let me go out there and pick flowers and dig in the dirt. She taught me the satisfaction of watching seeds sprout and flowers bloom. I will always be grateful for that gift. I ordered these iris bulbs from Holland for her for Christmas before the storm hit. None of us realized that they would be the first thing she would plant after losing her garden and having her home flooded by 13 feet of water. I like to think they symbolize rebirth and the hope that her garden will flourish again! March 2006
