Your journaling is really touching. I hope and pray they find that cure and that your dreams (and his) come true.
What a wonderful story you shared with us through your LO.
It's beautiful, thanks for sharing.
AWWWWWWWWWWE!!!!! You finally came on to check out my LO's?!?!?!?! I'm so excited Tiffany and I'm thrilled that you love this LO. And you KNOW that I love them all equally, but Jonathan and I just have a different bond......but that doesn't take anything away from Robert and Christopher EVER!!!!!
Love you sis!
Oh Michele That is the most wonderful thing I have ever read. Thank You for letting me know how you truly feel about Jonathan. I wish for many things for my children but that I wish a million times a day. I went to a meeting with his teachers, today. They say he is polite and pleasent to everyone. (not surprising if you know Jonathan) You have a bond with Robert and Chris. But compared to them you have a much greater bond with Jonathan because of the relationship you two share. For that I will always cherish you as my sister. sniff sniff (I need to go get more tissues) Tiffany
Thank you everyone for all your kind words and prayers. I have been wishing for 9 years for a cure and they get closer and closer each year so you just never know. I have four nephews and love them all dearly but my bond with Jonathan is so different, but that doesn't take away anything I feel for the others.
What a beautiful page and beautiful wish. I knew someone with CF sveral years ago, and I too have been hoping since then that they find a cure. Crossing my fingers, praying, and wishing on stars for you and this little guy!
Michele, this is so touching and heartfelt. I'm glad you were finally inspired to create this LO. One of the reasons I love my job so much (teaching prek) is because children can inspire me in ways no others can. They are so full of love and life and they just see things in the "truest" ways. You are very blessed to have such a special relationship with your nephew and I'm pretty sure he is just as blessed to have you.
This is for the April BOM challenge. The challenge was to create a LO about what my one wish would be if I only had one wish to make.
Journaling reads:
If I had one wish and only one wish, it would be that there was a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.
You are and always will be my "buddy" no matter how old you are, I will always treasure the bond that we have. Anytime I see you, you brighten my day.
You were diagnosed with CF when you were only five months old and you have had many tough days with this terrible disease during the past nine years but it never breaks your spirit. It amazes me to watch you grow and having gone through so much but you always maintain such a positive outlook on life. You are always such a happy and playful little boy and never seem to be angry at life or have an ounce of self-pitty. You are such an inspiration of how to live life to the fullest and play with the cards that you were dealt.
I have been visiting with you every time you are in the hospital since your were just a baby. I can remember walking into your hospital room back when you were in a crib and looking at you with all sorts of monitors and tubes hooked up to you while you looked so small and fragile and I would be afraid to touch you. The nurse told me it was ok so I picked you up out of your hospital crib and sat in the rocking chair holding you for hours watching you sleep. One time I even climbed up in the crib and cuddled with you.
We've come a long way since then. Now when I visit you in the hospital you are old enough to play, read and watch movies with. But what we really enjoy most is when the nurses let you out of your room, we walk around the unit and say hello to everyone then take the elevator down to the lobby and walk up to the playroom where we play the free video games. One time you even tried to bring me down a hallway that I had never been down before and I tried to tell you there was nothing there; it just looked like a utility area. But you insisted so I followed you and down at the end of the hall there was a doorway. When you opened the door it led us into what seemed to be a secret garden, you looked up at me and smiled that big beautiful smile and said "see Auntie Cheli, I told you". It was beautiful and I was thrilled that you wanted to share this special place with me. We spent almost an hour walking around the beautifully landscaped garden and played in the grass, walked through arches that were covered in rose vines and we even sat under the biggest tree that I have ever seen. I treasure every single moment that I spend with you and I know you feel the same way, I can feel it. I plan on spending a million more wonderful moments with you.
I wish to watch you grow, graduate school, get married and have children. I wish to watch you conquer any dream you may have. And most of all, I wish to watch you grow old and be completely fulfilled and happy with life.
