Journaling: When I was in the Air Force I loved the sound of fighters, I still do. To me the sound of a fighter is the sound of freedom. They are the pilots that defend our skies, and provide air support during war. I love working at the airport, I get to see F-16s all the time.
This picture is of an F-18, I don’t remember the pilot’s name. When he came into Des Moines I and a co-worker wanted to see it up close. We asked the pilot and he said he didn’t mind giving us a tour of the aircraft. (Because we worked him into the airport) This wasn’t the first time I’ve been this close to an aircraft. But this is the first picture I’ve gotten.
