I was very curious, about this. I thought how interesting. I have to take a look. As soon as I read the details, and how this lo came about I was floored. Simply stunning! A fave!
Christine! this is AMAZING...and really touches a chord within me....I dated a musician for most of my 20's ... and eventually lived a long-distance relationship...me in OK, him in NY....and he will always be a major part of who I am today.... hard to explain....but I can ABSOLUTELY relate to this! a DEFINITE FAVE my FRIEND! strangely...this is where my head (and heart) was going with this challenge....if I had/have time to do it.
So, we see a little piece of your soul, my friend. Very, very cool page, with so much symbolism - AWESOME. Thanks for sharing this part of your human story.

This was my take on Lisa's Skeleton's In The Closet Challenge over at Scraps of Darkness (LOVE her SITC Challenge!) Anyway, the challenge was to scrap the emotion and/or feeling you get when you hear the song "iris" by the goo goo dolls WITHOUT using a picture. The first line always bring me back in time when Charles was living 1000 miles away and we only got to see each other every 3 months or so. This layout depicts emotions and challenges that we went though during that time, and even afterwards. Lots of symbolism here. All the music imagery is because that is how we met in the first place. I found his band on myspace.com, and after a long while of being just friends and me being a fan of his music, for whatever reason, he gave me his phone number. I called him, and not long after that I was head over heels. I fell in love before I ever met him in person. I would meet him some 5 months or so after we first began communicating, and his music was often the only way I could really feel close to him. The ipod on my layout shows his band's name, and the name of a song he wrote for me. The state of texas with the red heart right over the dallas area..since that's where my heart was. The broken heart showing how I felt most of the time, even though his love made me feel like my heart was flying most of the time, too. The girl is me, crying black tears and stiched x's across the mouth to represent that which was unspoken. God brought Charles to me. I've learned so much from him and the experience, I have barely scratched the surface of what this layout represents.
For products, I used some papers that I got from the Scraps of Darkness Store, some paper from my May "now and zen" kit, some mists from the kit (which totally rocked-the mists-AND the kits) usesdlots of glossy accents, ink and my cricut and gypsy a TON! I was on a week long vacation and spent a lot of my down time thinking about how I would convey my emotion in a layout with out a picture.
