Another day in the backyard, blowing bubbles and doing the sorts of things toddlers do outside. 12x15 lo. Thanks for looking!

JOURNALING:
"Winter break has a different meaning in our house at this stage of our lives. We aren’t talking about fabulous ski trips and all-night partying in the lodge. Nor are we referring to breaks from pulling all-nighters and taking mid-term exams. No, we are literally referring to a break in the winter…rains, that is. And when you’ve been cooped up inside for any number of consecutive days with two restless, non-stop, Mommy-I-wanna-go-outside toddlers, well let’s just say a break is a long-time coming for all parties involved.
On this day, the clouds cleared away for one precious afternoon. After incessant pleading and impatient whining, Anna Liv and Mia Karine were released outdoors. They made a beeline to the bottles of bubbles. This was a skill they were just mastering when they were interrupted by overcast skies and pouring rain. Mommy lets them make bubbles only when they’re outside. Hoarding their respective bottles, they reacquainted themselves with the wonders of the backyard.
Ah yes, a hint of spring was in the air. Spring has even greater, more precious meaning now. It
means bright sunshine and blooming flowers. It means short sleeves and shorts. It means a whole world outdoors where the children can keep busy and quit hounding Mommy to “go outside.” As I always say, it’s the little things in life.
