SHCG: Great story. :) The rolled frame is an awesome touch. All the time you spent on the title really paid off; it's very different and it works! The kitty sticker on the top left block cracks me up... cute touch!
SHCG: This lo is so cute! I love the blocks for the title-very nice! The colors are great, so is the pic! I love the photo frame and the journaling!Great work!
I really loved the rolled photo frame! It is so very cool. I think it's awesome how you documented the story of how he came to live with you all! P.S. Totally with you on the decorative scissors thing! I still use mine.
awww...Tiger Cat is adorable and I love the story of how he came to be yours! The blocks look great;they were definitely worth the efforrt! The curled paper frame is a cool effect.
SHCG: I'm loving the story behind ths page! The blocks look really amazng too, lot's of hard work and it looks great. I like the dimention on this page and the little curls remind me of cat's whiskers lol. Great color combination as well.
SHCG: Fabulous page. All of your hard work paid off. The blocks are amazing and there is dimension to them, they almost appear to be coming off the page at me. Love the curling ribbon around the pic. What a story. Tiger Cat is very lucky, and adorable. Great LO, I wouldn't change a thing.
SHCG: Your blocks are fabulous! I love that two of the blocks in the top tier contain two letters giving even more dimension to them. Nice job, as usual with the deco scissors, and very nice crimping, too. The story behind Tiger Cat is just as adorable as the photo and the mini kitty sitting on the block. I like the curlicues, too. My only suggestion would be to shade a shadow for the blocks to sit on and anchor them a bit. In your journaling, you need an a before car. That's it, no other changes. I love this lo. It's hard to believe you weren't initially pleased with it.
SHCG - What an awesome story & page, Lisa! The blocks are terrific. The curled frame is groovy & unique. The pawprint embellie & detailed journaling are great. It was meant to be that Tiger Cat was still eventually yours, such a wild story about that couch! Love this LO about your furbaby!
shcg - Lisa, all the time you spent in this page really shows. I love the blocks and the rattle. The photo is adorable! I'd scoop up that cat in an instant as well!
Ever have one of those pages that just did not want to cooperate? Well this was one of them... After spending HOURS creating the blocks & letters in Photoshop just so I could cut them out on my cricut I lost all interest in this page. "At the end of the day" it would have been a BILLION MILLION times easier and faster to just sketch the blocks on paper and cut them out with scissors. As it was I ended up cutting most of it by hand anyway including the crimped paper and vellum behind the letters so you could see them better. Did I learn my lesson when it came time to make the rattle? Nooooo, I made that in Photoshop too and then hand cut parts. I am a hybrid (cricut & scissors) embellishment maker.
The paper rolling/curling was inspired by several layouts I researched in the gallery.
The journaling reads...As a poor couple, just starting out, we were always looking out for discarded items like used furniture. Cruising one day we came across some curbside cats. On an old couch we discovered several kittens from at least three litters. My boyfriend (at the time) knocked on the front door and asked what's up with all of these cats? The lady of the house replied, help yourself. They are there for the pickin'. Take a few home and try them out. So we picked out three kittens. He picked a gray cat and named him Fred. I picked out Tiger Cat and we threw in one more but I don't remember his name. Well…Fred proved to be the most boisterous of the bunch and like BFs in most relationships (they get their way) Fred got to stay. Tiger Cat and the unnamed third kitten were returned to the now infamous kitten couch which by then had several dozen residents. But life was not good to Fred and he met his fate with car a few months later. Naturally we were upset but eventually we paid the kitten couch another visit. Low & behold Tiger Cat was still there! But by now Tiger Cat was a teen-age stud cat in his prime. MEOW! I scooped him up and he became MY cat. So this is why I have only one baby picture of Tiger Cat.
Thank you for stopping by...
PS I almost forgot...I used Deco scissors on the photomat cause IT AIN'T SCRAPBOOKING UNLESS YOU USE DECO SCISSORS!
