This is a shot I took of my boxing gloves. In 2007-2008, I was learning the sport as part of my personal training. Journaling says:
This fall, I started personal training at Wounded Deer with Jim Mellen, and I adore him. He's a much better match for me than MaryAnn was at the Club. Sometimes, he sings and plays guitar for me while I warm up on the elliptical. So sweet -- until he tries to kill me with 20 minutes of intervals. Next we do 20 minutes of abs and free weights, and then it's time for my favorite part. He wraps my hands and puts my gloves on me for 20 minutes of boxing. We usually do three rounds on the heavy bag and then sparring drills for the rest of the time. It's so much work and so much fun. I love it!

I used the Week 4 bonus sketch from the May Monthly Sketch Challenge (an October '09 PageMap). I changed the sketch to use a vertical title because the horizontal title looked weird to me next to the big 'Everlast' in the photo. This is for the VLB Challenge to use our newest purchase -- the Martha Stewart Cherish punch set (around the large cream layer). I used the Martha Doily Lace punch to punch strips of black cardstock, which I then sprayed with Raven GM and pleated to make the 'lace' edge around the circle -- my first attempt at that technique, and I love how it looks. I did some messy machine sewing around the circle and also at the top of the photo mat and bottom of the journaling/title block. I made the flower with 2 sizes of scallop punches, Glitz pp, black cs, ink, Pearl GM, and a jewel brad. The Wounded Deer logo/info is a reduced copy on cs of part of a flyer.

TFL!
