This is a photo of my granddaughter, Helen Grace, that was taken last year. I must admit, I am thrilled with the way this layout turned out!! As I was blog hopping over the weekend, I discovered a blog that was talking about "Zentangle". I had no idea what she was talking about, so I did a little research on Zentangle and discovered that basically it's just doodling, but doodling within borders with patterns. So, I thought....I can do this! First I played around with a couple of 3 x 3 squares and a 3" circle to figure out what to do. There's tons of patterns online, some I used here and some I just made up as I went along. This layout was created with just one sheet of white card stock and two black pen (a fine point and a broad point pen). I think what really makes this pop is the dark patches in the doodling. I did this entire layout (all the doodling) in about 3.5 hours. I know that sounds long, but sometimes I spend that long on just a regular layout. I started by drawing a funky frame shape on the paper before I began my doodling. When I was ready to add the photo, I cut it to fit the shape of the frame. Since the photo was a little smaller than my original drawn frame, I had to add some additional doodling around the photo. I know it's different, and I know it's funky...but I'm loving it! Hope you do too! Title letters are BG (small) and foam letters (Attitude).

BTW...I'm NOT an artist...anyone can do this because it's not based on perfection...just doodling! Google Zentangle and you'll be amazed at what you can do!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
