This is my beloved dad & my two sons Christmas Day 1990. My parents seperated when I was seven and all I ever wanted to do was live with my dad again. When his partner passed away about six years ago I tried to get him to come and live with us, but he was fiercely independent and lived alone in his home for the next three years. He wouldn't accept any outside help despite the fact that he was legally blind. He passed away three years ago, aged 87, and I think about him every day. He actually died in my arms twice. The first time in a shopping mall and then, although the ambulance officers did get him breathing again, he never came out of a coma, and he passed away again five days later whilst I was at his beside in hospital. It was his birthday last week and I wanted to make a layout in his honour but I am really disappointed how it turned out. I think I put too much pressure on myself to try & create something 'special'. It wouldn't even photograph properly....IRL I'm pretty sure it is at least straight.
I used a die cut sheet of paper and made a template of the inner edge on some baking paper and then used that to trace out the inner shape onto some patterned paper. The chipboard frame I covered with some cardstock and I made the twine button by just gluing some twine onto a punched circle. The die cut tilte is by Scrapfx and I painted it navy blue.
TFL.
