I just loved her cute, funny doodles and the colors and embellies. I love doodling anyway, so it's like this was just meant for me! (I actually ran out of space for more doodling... LOL)
This isn't the photo I wanted for this page, but it's the closest I could find in the short (month) I had to look for it! (For that reason, the buttons and a few of the embellies are not glued down, but taped so I can remove them and put the correct photo in... whenever I find it... and I won't journal until then either!)
This is of me and my best friend (still after more than half our lives!) of 20 years. This was at a bar during our early 20s, but the photo I wanted to put on here was of us at one of the (many) concerts we attended together. We have basically grown up together, shared life experiences, our birthdays are 11 days apart, fought, made up, graduated from HS, got drunk, suffered broken hearts, married our best male friends and are still going! During our junior and high school years, we filled maybe 20 or 30 little notebooks with notes to each other - to the exasperation of our teachers - as well as doodles and drawings. Lots of my doodles are similar to the ones in our notebooks - most of which we still have. The strawberry and kiwi were our nicknames; me the strawberry and her the kiwi... we really don't know why... Such good times!
I hate that we live so far apart, but for a really good friendship, I feel you don't have to talk everyday to keep it in tact. Life gets in the way, but the times we do get together or chat are always important to me. We're hoping we can do something for our 20-year anniversary this fall, but finances may get in the way...
I actually hand-drew all the heart cut-outs and the blue border.
