My dd took me to a little shop in the city, hoping to buy a birthday present, for my birthday the following day. Izzy and Popo's was packed with french provincial antiquities....a wonderful treasure trove of bits and pieces....from hat boxes and bureaus with treasures hidden in the draws, to french postcards, an old dressmaker form and all sorts of trinkets. There was also a courtyard and a basement down a steep ramp where even more amazing items were stuffed into every corner. We rummaged through old sets of printers blocks (even letters with the french accents) to make words for a photo frame. After getting very dirty hands playing with the blocks I chose "Family". Happy with our choices we headed off and had lunch before returning home. This layout symbolises everything about the day, including the red and white string which was used in the shop for the price tags. I love the printers' blocks my dd bought for me, but the best part of her gift was her time to take me out for the day.
