Even though I have a Cricut, I just couldn't resist a Quickuts lot on Ebay. That's right it was spelled with a "s" instead of a "z". After a mighty bidding battle, with one other person who couldn't spell either, I got the tool, 35 dies, 3 alphabet sets, numbers, 4 embossing plates, and a storage binder with sleeves for the dies for $50! So of course I had to try it out. The "summer" text, flower, t-shirt & shorts, rain drops, and flip flops are all cut using my quickutz. I got a little carried away with the embossing plates but I had to try them and added a little chalk to the embossing. And can I just say I LOVE QUICKUTZ!
I made the popsicle. The wave along the bottom matches one of the penguins shorts (it's hard to see). And I added a few shiny things to match the paper which has some glitter accents.
All of the paper I used was scraps and I had just enough yellow ric rac ribbon to go across the top and for the flip flops.

I used my deco scissors only once. Can you find where? CAUSE....IT AIN'T SCRAPBOOKING IF YOU DON'T USE DECO SCISSORS!

PS I LOVE this paper because my mom used to tell me this joke OVER and OVER and OVER

A truck driver was delivering some penguins to the zoo on a hot July afternoon when his truck overheats. He flags down a truck and asks the driver if he would take the penguins to the zoo for $100. The other driver, an animal lover, readily agrees and the penguins jump in. The stranded driver walks into town to get help. He convinces a mechanic to come take a look at his broken truck. As they are heading back he sees the other truck driver with 25 penguins following him. "HEY! What in the heck are you doing!?" asks the stranded driver. The animal lover replays, "Well, we went to the zoo first and had some money left over. So now we are going for ICE CREAM!"
