Journaling on back reads: " After spending a couple of days in Pensacola, Sarah & I decided on the spur-of-the-moment that it would be fun to take a long, leisurely, scenic route home. We opted to head east along the coast & then take the smaller back roads toward home, avoiding busy, boring interstates and large cities. We chronicled the trip by taking photos in each little town that we passed through, sometimes stopping for a photo shoot. The embellishments & photos on these pages depict a condensed version of our epic road trip; just follow the red arrows from the bottom left to the bottom right along the roadway. Heading south from Pensacola, we arrived at US 98 East (which travels along the coast) at Navarre Beach. We stopped at the beach, despite the light sprinkling of rain (note the clouds & umbrella) and made a few pictures. The sky was already clearing by the time we left & headed to Fort Walton Beach. We stopped again for more pictures, but didn’t do much wading there because of all the seaweed & dead fish along the beach (note the upside down fish). From here, we journeyed east to Destin. After riding through the town to see what was available for lunch, we decided to stop at Bubba Gump’s. We had a delicious lunch, including a tower of onion rings, a hamburger, fries & slaw. Since she wasn’t driving, Sarah enjoyed a Pomegranate Punch a la Lt. Dan (note the tropical drink). Then it was back on the road, following along US 98 East to San Destin. While traveling like this, we found that it was much better to do it the old school way, using a road map rather than depend on our “trusty” GPS. After leaving the coast at San Destin, we traveled up into Alabama through many quaint little towns...Clio, with its beautiful painted buildings...Louisville, where we stopped for a photo shoot at an old abandoned school...& Samson, to whose name we kept adding a “p”. By this time Sarah’s drink had worn off so she took over the driving duties for a while, so that I would not kill us trying to observe the many helicopters circling overhead. Come to find out we were near Fort Rucker. At this point, we realized that it would soon be dark & we were still several hours from home. So, once again we got out our handy-dandy road map & began looking for a larger town in which to spend the night (note the moon & stars sticker). Unlike what you see in the movies, these smaller towns do not have hotels. Realizing this, we decided to head for Eufaula, located on the Alabama/Georgia line, complete with a large lake. We lucked up & found a room at the Jameson Inn. We asked around & were directed to the River City Grill for supper. With a quick change of clothes, off we went. Our supper was delicious. The next morning (note the sun sticker) we hopped into the car & toured the historic downtown area. Eufaula has so many beautiful brick buildings & huge old homes. The white house in the picture is Shorter Mansion (famous for its appearance in the movie “Sweet Home Alabama”). After touring the town, we shopped at the local Goody’s & stocked up on new clothes for summer & fall. Stashing our loot in our heavily loaded trunk, we headed north, passing through Phenix City, AL & over the state line into Columbus, GA. After being sent on one wild goose chase by our ever “trusty” GPS, we finally located a Chic-fil-a in Columbus & ate lunch on the run. Heading north from Columbus, we passed through the beautiful mountainous- actually just hilly- regions of western Georgia into Warm Springs, home of FDR’s Little White House. About this time, we got a call from Jerry telling us that he was working in Molena- just a hop, skip, & a jump away. So, once again we altered our course & met up with him. Naturally, just as we pulled into a parking lot to meet him, it began to rain (note rain cloud). From there, we followed him (that’s him in the phone truck) through the pouring rain back into Griffin, where he headed off to his next job & we headed on to Home Sweet Home. We were “toadily happy” with our spur-of-the-moment road trip. These are just a few of the highlights. See more on upcoming pages.

NOTE: When I finished these pages, Sarah said they reminded her of a “Where’s Waldo?” book. So, I added a “Waldo” to each page. Can you find him?"

These pages have too many products, etc. to even begin to list. I had so much fun working on these - they are unlike anything I've ever done. I hope you enjoy looking as much as I did creating them! Thanks so much for stopping by!!!
