The patterned paper is lovely with this and the green matting ties in perfectly. I thought it was funny how in the airport souvenir shops, they had boxes of three pineapples, and the box was perfectly sized to be allowed as a carry-on. We wanted to bring a papaya home for our pet rabbit (she loved her little digestive tablets containing papaya and pineapple powder), but we were short on room already as we did the whole trips without checking any luggage, just using our allowed carry-ons.
One thing I love about Oahu is the North Shore and with each trip we always go to the North Shore at least once.
The Dole Pineapple plant is on the way to the North Shore and the factory was operating so we pulled over to see the pineapples being loaded onto the conveyor belt. Then we watched as they were washed by a sprinkling system as they made their way up to the opening near the top of the building.
Polynesian Treasures is a lovely gift shop on North Shore that sells license plates they buy from Bill. After making a delivery to them we walked next door to the General Store for a shave ice. These are excellent – and they will put as much syrup in it as you ask them to! My favorite is banana!!!
Last stop on the North Shore; The Grass Skirt, a small outdoor restaurant. My coconut shrimp were excellent.
