I like making these costumes for plus size women, because it is a growing market, and until recently, there were very few patterns in larger sizes. I love sewing in general, but learning new techniques is thrilling for me. All of my Civil war garments are created using genuine patterns, reproduction fabrics, and construction methods as close to the time period as possible. This costume took me about 3 days to make, and it's a fairly simple day outfit.
