This was made for a blog challenge we had at clear dollar stamps in which the theme was summer. I read the post that the theme this month will be “Summertime!” Oh goodness, what will I do for this? This truly was going to push my creativity if I was going to play this month….which of course I HAD TO PLAY! You see, I don’t own a lot of stamps as I have always been scared of them! I know God has a sense of humor since he gave me such a wonderful opportunity being on a digital stamp team! Of course I love them now and are getting better with coloring them too! So I searched through all my digital stamps from Clear Dollar Stamps trying to see what I had that I could use for “SUMMERTIME”. I have fruit and vegetables but just did cards using them so really didn’t want to keep using the same stamp! So I kept searching……….OH the rocking chair! That is perfect for SUMMERTIME. I love sitting outside on our chair glider in the evenings just chatting with my husband while the dogs run around the yard (I could do without the bugs but I guess that is all part of summer). So now how was I going to get this wonderful “rocking chair sitting on a front porch” ideal from my head to paper?!! Got to love having a husband who is an artist! So he sketched out a front porch and I went to work on creating it. He was an angel and drew the lines for the deck right onto the card for me! I free handed the porch railing. I was so proud of myself because I cut the rocking chair pieces out with an exacto knife and I didn’t screw up once!! I’m not very steady with an exacto knife so this was pretty impressive!!
