Blog Hop Announcement and Summery Holiday Card!
July 8th, 2011 by jennifer

Happy Friday, stampers!

I am so very excited to let you in on a little secret today: We will be having a blog hop next week with Studio Calico! So mark your calendars and be sure to come back on Monday to do some hopping. And, of course, you will get to see us using the new Studio Calico + Hero Arts stamps!

In the meantime, I wanted to share a fabulous card by my dear friend Tami Hartley. It uses some of the new Hero Arts holiday stamps that will be released soon. And her color combo is dynamite… and would be perfect for summer, too!

For this card, Tami started by stamping the soon-to-be-released Spirit of the Season cling tree stamp with Hero Hues Grass Chalk Ink on Snow Layering Paper. She then created two blue pieces with Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Inks and the popular Magical Background. After arranging them together and adding some sewing, she perfectly placed a strip of Hero Arts Self-Adhesive Lace and a Creative Impressions silk bow. Look closely at the image stamped on the circle behind the greeting (which is also from the Spirit of the Season cling set) - it is a delicate circle image called Star Ornament. Lovely, isn’t it? To make the circle pop, Tami used an Inking Blending Tool and Broken China Distress Ink to ink the edges before adhering to her stamped panel. Finally, she added it to a card cut from Kraft Paper and embellished the tree with Light Green Pearls. Perfection!

I *adore* color combinations that can be used all year round. Great card, Tami!

I hope you have a great weekend. See you Monday!

MORE June Winners
July 7th, 2011 by lucy

Welcome to the second winners post of June, and what a post it is! Looking through the many submissions in our Flickr pool was a real treat, and narrowing down the winners was very hard! But we’ve selected our favorites, so sit back, relax and enjoy some fabulous eye candy!

First up, our Fresh Face. This month it is noonuh, who created this beautiful polaroid ‘photo’ card using our Flower Corsage stamp. Stunning watercoloring here…

Next, we have our Digital winner. Paintingeyedoc’s congratulations card uses our A Star is Born digikit, and would make a perfect sweet and simple congratulations card for a man.

And now, our Fab Five, five of our favorite projects, presented in no particular order. Just like our Fresh Face and Digital winners, every member of the Fab Five will receive a $50 Hero Arts shopping spree.

First up, Kellsterstamps, who used a mixture of watercolor and markers to create this stunning card. Kelly proves that our Flower Text stamp needs nothing to accompany it! Perfection.

Next, Jette/Denmark. We love this elegant wedding card with its embossed Rose Background and simple sentiment. The embellishments add the perfect touch.

Bingucat (Tania)’s stunning box card is our next winning entry. We love the richness of the colors, the delicious watercolored Striped Flower, and the sweet and sparkly hummingbird.
