As my daughter's friends have their babies, I've found a fairly simple and fairly inexpensive (because I have so many supplies to use up!) gift idea: make tags that can hang in the closet and separate the various clothing sizes (because you KNOW new mommies get clothes in ALL sizes). They've met with a fair amount of success, and at least I know I don't have to worry about duplicate gifts. :) I use a parking permit (that hangs on your rearview mirror) as the template, trace & cut out the form from heavy cardstock, stencil the sizes on, then add whatever else I have on hand.
