I can only see this small as it stops loading halfway when I click on it...did the same thing in the email you sent..it may be my computer though..it's been snail slow all day..grrr...anyway this turned out great and that is a very touching story. I think of that playground at the beginning of the 5th Harry Potter movie..it looks so desolute..like any kid would think the same thing..is that all there is? You conveyed that feeling...great design and love the snow...and thanks for the nod to me..you're too modest though..you have these layouts pretty well thought out before I see them.
st of all I have to say I feel cheated because I can't make out the expression on your son's face. :-( So I think of the moon as being pretty sparse such as the playground. I love how you correlate the 2. It is so innovative! Again the colors really work with one another. I must say the snow truly looks like snow! I love the little astronaut—the letters, and the little guy standing in the snow. Very unique LO. Great Job!!!
Took my son to the park. All these years later, looking at the photograph, he seemed to be saying (according to the expression on his face and his body language ) "is that all there is?" There were only a few kid tunnels and swings. I didn't notice this reaction at the time. The photo was taken in the winter, obviously, and I think he looks like a little astronaut all bundled up and discovering the emptiness at the other end of his journey. Scrapping this, I discovered how beautiful emtpiness can be. I want to thank my dear friend Jeanne (Dollscrap) for helping me with pretty much every layout I do. She has a wonderful artistic eye.
I made the snow at the left by rubbing two styrofoam balls together (cheap at the dollar store). I used fast grab tacky glue on the cardstock underneath. Unfortuntely, it is not acid fast. The top letters were made with my beloved and relatively new blackletter Cricut cartridge. The tree came from my Hertitage cartridge. I want to thank my friend Donna Neal (not a scrapper--yet) for letting me copy the way she colored her own tree when we were goofing with crafts one day.
Note: The words "That's it??" at the bottom of the lo look blurry, but if you click on it again (after enlarging it once), it looks fine.
