I did this layout for the August Scrap Your Pet and Multi-Pic challenges. The design is a Pagemaps sketch. The photos are of our pug Libby on her first birthday. She is our child (for now) and we tend to spoil her a bit. The pink pp is from Echo Park's Summer Days line, green ppr is scrap. For the Scrap Your Pet challenge there was an optional twist of using a handmade embellishment. I designed, cut-out, and pieced together the party hat. The pp used is also from the Echo Park Summer Days line, I then cut out some of the diamond shapes from the pp and pop-dotted them. The pom-pom is from a ribbon I found in my collection I didn't even know I had. "Libby's First" is done with foam thickers from American Crafts called rockabye; "birthday" is foam alpha letters from the paper studio. Instead of an "I" in "first" I used a 1, then used a raindrop stamp to make it look like a birthday candle, and colored it in with an orange Zig pen. The daisies are Heidi Grace and have glitter on them (probably can't tell in the photo), the center of the flowers and the "dot on the i" are bling brads from American Crafts. Journaling reads:
"Some people might say we're crazy, but when Libby's first birthday came around in March 2010, Adam & I had a little party for her. I baked cupcakes & grilled half a chicken breast for her birthday dinner. We sang "Happy Birthday" & blew out the candle. She was so cute eating her mini cupcake! She licked all the icing off first then ate the cake in one bite! Her birthday presents from momma & daddy were mini tennis balls and a chew bone. She's our baby and she is definitely spoiled!
