Julie Fei-Fan Balzer pointed me towards this video to show how she curls the paper when using the sewing machine, the same technique I've used. I had this idea that everyone else plans their layouts so well that they sew on the accessories (or whatever) before gluing them down. I don't. I'm the kinda scrapper who glues first, thinks later.

Anyway, it made me want to try making my own chevron background, so I did! Julie's stencils are not in the shops yet, so I had to get my ruler, pencil and eraser out, but it was easy, really. I didn't know which photo I wanted to use, but printed this, taken as a part of the 30 day photo challenge. When I returned to the living room to scrap it (yes, I've moved my scrap stuff onto what used to be our dining table as my desk is taken over by books and manuscripts and articles and notebooks as I just finished the first draft of my thesis today), I held the photo up and exclaimed "Å, for en herlig mann jeg har!" (Oh, what a wonderful man I've got), which made my husband (sitting on the couch playing PS3) grin very widely! so that became the title.

Really, really like how this turned out!
