I'm loving those farm cutouts especially the windmills. It is a bleak picture but it is representative of the times. My family moved to California during the Depression. My great aunt died on the train ride back.
Love the way you incorporated the hill, tree, wagon, and windmill in the lo. The photo is wonderful. My father was a child during the depression too, and his family was poor and suffered like so many during that time. Hope you can locate more photo's.
I hope you're able to find more photos of your dad, but it's nice that you have this one...I like the hill you made behind the photo and the black embellies...they suit the feel of the photo so well!
My mom was born in 1923, she had a very poor childhood too. Many strong people came out of those years. I love your layout, how wonderful to have this vintage photo of your dad:)
I like the way you have incorporated the earth hillock as a frame for the photograph. And your journaling is very wonderful. The windmill adds a nice sense of movement to the page! I hope that you have some luck finding more photos of your Dad, but this one is just wonderful too!
This is just too cool, what a great photo to have!! Some of my family pictures look depressing too, they all had some hard times, the kids these days don't know how good they have it! I just love the farm items and the family tree, awesome work!!!
This is an old picture of my Dad on the farm with his mules. I think it looks so depressing. The background looks so bleak. I tried to give it some depth and use some farm items as well as the tree symbolizing our family tree. I wish I had a cute baby picture of Dad but so far this is all I can come up with. Hoping to visit my Aunt to see if she has any earlier pictures of Dad.
