Oh Peggy!! This is wonderful!! And you used the "flockin rubons"!!! Awesome!!! Love your peacock feather!! Beautiful!! Tammy and Irene will be so proud!! You did great!!!
Tammy is hosting an awesome challenge this month: we must create a layout using gesso, misting, and a mask that we make ourselves. To help, she provided us with a link to one of Irene Tan’s video tutorials. To help us further, Irene has provided us with a step-by-step tutorial on another way she uses these materials (available on the Swirlydoos blog). As a twist, we have been given the task of including something that a lot of us seem to struggle with: a Prima flocked rub-on. (As a matter of fact, we have given this item our own pet nickname.)
After seriously messing up with my first attempt (Irene makes it look so easy, but believe me, it's not), I decided to think a little smaller and to allow my page to take me wherever it wanted to go. I spritzed the upper third of this page with Glimmer Mist, then applied gesso over my home-made (with the Cricut) mask. After it dried, I applied some distress ink before removing the fish and putting them on the side to play another day. I actually did the twist, too: the "fun" under the framed photo is flocking flocking. :) The pretty colors in this month’s kit led me not only to pick these photos taken by my DIL, but to actually unlock the vault and raid my hoard of Dusty Attic. (No fears, this particular design comes with two of the large and two of the small feathers, so I still have some left…)
Sophia getting her hand painted at a local fair. Her mother tells me that it came off later while she was in the pool and that she took it pretty well...
