Journaling: We stayed in a total of seven hotels during our trip to eastern Europe. The KK hotels were, by far, our favorites with KK Hotel Central Prague coming in first. Hotel Kummer in Vienna was spacious, but we were never successful in getting the room cool. KK Hotel Opera in Budapest was conveniently located near the subway and was right across the street from the Opera House. Our room in Hotel Stela in Levoca was a bit pink but fine for a night. Then we entered into the spartan phase of the trip with our rooms in Hotel David in Krakow and our Communist era rooms in Ostrava and Kutna Hora. It was a bit like being at camp. Arthur saved the best for last for us with our very comfortable room in Prague -- such a nice way to end a vacation. Travel definitely makes you appreciate the comforts of home.
