what a moving story, sometimes we have to let them go and hope for the best. I am sure you must be thrilled to death to have him home again. this is a great masculine pg, I love the dark colors and the feather!
so glad he's back home with you-sometimes they have to figure these things out for themselves, but it sure is hard to let go,isn't it?(Just today I brought my son to London,Ont,2 hrs away, for his 2nd year at university,so I hear ya!!)gorgeous colours and design and that peacock feather is TO DIE FOR!!
I well remember the hurt you felt when he left the nest but then all fledglings leave the nest just to return another day.So glad for you that the grass wasn't greener but then it seldom is. Your page is absolutely beautiful, the photo gorgeous. The colours are perfect nd love the feather work and your detail on the DA.
You should be very proud that he didn't just goof off, that he kept up with his education and reached his re-turning point. Love your peacock feather, very realistic!
So gorgeous my tongue is hanging out! Love the dark moodiness of this, perfect for that fab photo of your DS! So glad that wayward boy made his way back home and soooo glad you shared this layout with us!

Stunning tribute to you own great mothering, Jen!!! Love your dark, rich colors and the wonderful way that you've framed your returned nestling with the punched circle, the feather and that stunningly colored DA!!!!!
Wow this is just incredible, I love the dark rich colors and the peacock feather work is just awesome!!! I'm so happy for you, kids are hard and what a happy ending!!!!!!

AWESOME lo Jen and even better news!!! I am thrilled for you - I know how heartbroken you were when your DS left. It's got to make you feel soooo good that he decided to return home -of his own free will and choice. Sometimes you just have to let them go down their own path for a while. TFS - we all feel your JOY.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is F A B U L O U S ! ! ! ! ! ! I LOVE this!!!!!!!!! and ... it is so wonderful to hear your son came back to be with family.... in this day and age where families are falling apart... it's just so great to hear good news!
This is a layout of my oldest returning home to live with me. He moved 1000 miles away in March 2011 quite suddenly leaving me heartbroken and his Senior year in High School in jeopardy.
In August 2011, while we were on vacation, husband and I received a phone call from my son saying he regretted his move and he'd like to come back home.
While away, he did work hard at completing his high school degree and will start college this week.
I can see how happy he is to be home again with his grandparents, brother, cousins. He has been hugging everyone and been so very social at family gatherings - where before he moved, he'd rather bow out of family gatherings.
While it was one of the hardest things I have had to do in letting him go and live his life, I am glad he did not let too much time pass in realizing the grass is not always green and fertile elsewhere.
This is a layout I made for the Aug 2011 Scraps Of Darkness Kit. The kit is amazing and jammed with goodies.
I also used the Dusty Attic Peacock Feather - love this piece. Thanks a bunch for looking
