Wow!! Awesome find and great shot of it. It looks like a Carolina Sphinx Moth...I can't see the body so I'm not positive. Did you see its body??? A Carolina has yellow bands/spots on its body.

I need to find out what this is. I think I've only seen one other before. It's huge and had the biggest black eyes! The top of it was fuzzy and very soft.
