Journaling: We celebrated Katie’s first birthday on April 1 with a family dinner at Marc and Karen’s, followed by Katie’s first taste of cake. She wasn’t too sure about it at first, but it didn’t take long before she was up to her eyeballs in it. Then on April 3, she had another party in the park with all her little friends and more cake and more presents. Happy birthday, sweet girl!

For Easter, Katie was all decked out in her bunny ears and looked absolutely adorable -- but we’re not at all biased. We established our tradition of playing Pokeno with M&Ms when we didn’t have enough pennies. Don and I took Katie on her first trip to the zoo in Sanford. She enjoyed seeing the animals and riding the little train, but she wasn’t too keen on the merry-go-round. As soon as it started moving, she was ready to get off. How times have changed!
